Linda Lou Lewis passed away on Jan. 1, 2013 at the Veteran's Hospital in Sacramento, Ca with family by her side. Born on Feb. 9, 1957 at the Presidio of San Francisco, she was the fourth of six children. She grew up in Happy Valley and graduated from Harbor High School. Serving several years in the U.S. Army
, she was stationed in Germany and San Antonio before she returned to Santa Cruz where she worked for the Coastal Commission. She moved to Sacramento to be near her grand kids and to care of her parents, Bob and Nadine Emswiler, there she also worked at a boys group home where she met, and later adopted, Joey.
Linda loved unicorns, her dogs, her sons and especially her two grandchildren. Linda is survived by her sons: Shawn and Nikolas Lewis of Santa Cruz and Joey Cassaday of Reno, Na. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Brandon and Ashley Lewis, and five siblings Barbara Blum, Jackie Duncan, John Emswiler, Shari Wilson, Gary Emswiler, and many nieces and nephews who all knew her as a fun loving aunt.
A potluck celebration of her life will be held on Feb.9th, 2013, at the Santa Cruz Veterans Hall 2259 7th Ave. from 12:30 to 2:30 followed by a bonfire at Twin Lakes Beach.
