A celebration of life will be held on May 31, 2014 for Russell Condry who passed away on April 10, at the age of 81. Mr. Condry was born in Kansas and moved to the Los Angeles area at a young age. In 1951, while living in Lynwood, California, he joined the US Air Force
and served during the Korean War
through 1955. He received his Associates Degree from Santa Rosa Junior College, later attending California State University Los Angeles. Mr. Condry had a career in city government in Southern California that spanned over 20 years.
Moving to Santa Cruz 38 years ago, he was affectionately known as "The Shaver Man" in downtown Santa Cruz, where his shaving & accessories store operated for 15 years. Hobbies throughout his life included cycling, flying private planes, sailing, reading scientific articles and computers. Mr. Condry was active in the Lions Club as a young man, and Disabled American Veterans Santa Cruz Chapter No. 52. He was a long time congregant of Twin Lakes Church.
