Resident of Coarsegold, CA and former resident of Santa Cruz, CA.
Shawn passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday November 25, 2009 with his loving wife, his youngest brother and his eldest daughter at his side.
He was diagnosed 4 weeks earlier with Hepatocellular Carcinoma Cancer of the Liver.
Born in La Mesa, CA and raised in Santa Cruz, CA, Shawn graduated from Santa Cruz High School in 1969 and retired from the County of Santa Cruz in 1988 leaving the oceans of Santa Cruz for the mountains of Coarsegold, CA.
Shawn's family was the key to his happiness. He is the son of the late Alice May Bork.
His beloved wife, Linda Marlene Brown Bork shared 35 years of love and faith together. They were surrounded by the love of his daughters, Sonia Marie Delgado and Sarah Lynn Bratton. He is also Survived by 5 blessed Grandchildren; Joslyn Faith Delgado, Dustin Trevor Gunter, Samantha Lynn Marie Nolasco, Liliana Lynn-Marie Nolasco, Teegan Renee Bratton and was the brother of Marilyn Patricia Gonsalves, the late Kenneth James Bork, Wilton Dale Bork, Jeannie Marie Stewart, Geraldine May Bork, Geraline May Chantler, Alline Mae Brand, Wonda Ann Barnes; his nieces Tara Petix, Megan Crosslin, Monica Michelle Bork, Illine Mae Brown, Ashley Nicole-Marie Bolanos, nephews Sam Thomas, Sean Jason Bork, Jeffrey Crosslin, Brandon Scott Bolanos, Scott Freeman Brown, David Brown and Jessie Brown and he has 2 grand-nieces and 8 grand-nephews.
Shawn was a certified US Olympic Archery Instructor, a member of the Santa Cruz Archery Club, founded the Junior Olympic Archery Development Club in Santa Cruz and founded & operated the Archery Development Program through the Santa Cruz County Parks & Recreation Department.
Shawn always looked forward to his weekly Thursday night gathering with his many friends of Coarsegold in his 1500 sq ft play room, playing pool, darts, watching the weekend NASCAR races and such. Shawn loved to BBQ, was an avid fisherman and loved to go camping at Bass Lake with his family and friends.
Memorial Services will be held on Dec. 12 at 2:30 pm.

I spent a wild night with Shawn when we "escaped" from a boy's camp in Salinas back in 1964-65. we laughed all night and I don't think I'll ever forget the fun that adventure was. God bless ya Shawn. Pat Stow
