Gavin Ramos passed away unexpectedly on January 31, 2018 from injuries sustained in a vehicular accident. He was 22.
Gavin was born August 2, 1995 in Santa Cruz. The son of Jose Ramos and Heather Mickerson. He grew up in Santa Cruz where he attended local schools including Mt. School, Monte Vista, New Brighton and Star Community. Gavin worked at Togos, also in construction and for Uber.
He was described as a craftsman who could build or fix anything. At the age of 9, he built a motorized, peddle assist "Beautiful Bike". He enjoyed many outdoor activities including mountain biking, skateboarding, riding motorcycles, skiing, fishing and shooting. He also loved baseball and watching professional sports. In spite of his love for animals, he enjoyed hunting with his father. Gavin had a passion to live life to the fullest and help other's do the same. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He attended St. Joseph's Church with his father and brother on Sundays.
He is survived by his father, Jose Ramos; his mother, Heather Mickerson; brother, Travis Ramos; On his father's side he leaves grandmother, Maria Ramos; uncles, Andre Ramos, Enrique Ramos, Elfego Calderon; aunts, Margarita Ramos and Elvia Calderon and cousins, Nik Martinelli, Lukas Martinelli and Erika Martinelli. On his mother's side he leaves grandmother, Pearle Fogliasso; uncles, Jeff Mick, Shaan Aga, David Green and Jim Green; aunts, Deb Thil, Lois Aga, Sveta Green, Amy green, Donna DuBois and Pam Westfall; and cousins, Navar Aga, Chad Aga, Breanna Aga, Justin Green, Jordan Green, Hailey Green, Tristan Green and Marcie Aga.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 515 Frederick St., Santa Cruz, CA on Saturday February 10, 2018 beginning at 11:00 am. Followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, 2271 7th Ave., Santa Cruz, CA. A visitation will be held at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St, Santa Cruz, CA on Friday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

We are so very sorry for your loss, Heather and Travis. Gavin did attend a few of our Halloween parties over the years and Kyra most recently had contact with him at a few local events. He was a great guy and will be missed. May he rest in peace.
