Alice "Susie" Lucido passed away on August 6, 2012 at the age of 96. Susie was born on June 3, 1916, and was raised in Lake Elsinor, CA by her grandparents. As a child Susie enjoyed swimming and, even managed to swim across Lake Elsinor, much to her grandmother's surprise. After graduating from high school Susie and her first husband owned and operated Posie's restaurant. Even after his passing and her remarriage to Paul Lucido, she continued to run Posie's until she and Paul moved to Bodega Bay.
Susie was a class act, and always remained a lady. In her young adulthood Susie was a singer for the big bands and swing music and always dressed to the nines. Her sense of fashion and her lady-like ways was something she always held onto, even up until the very end of her life.
Susie was an avid volunteer for Cindy's Celebrations in her later years and was also a weekly regular at Gilda's restaurant on the wharf with her sister-in-law Marietta "Grams" Finnegan. Even then "auntie Susie" was very much the hostess to all of her friends at the restaurant.
Susie will be dearly missed by her late husband Paul Lucido's children and their families, her sister-in-law Marietta Finnegan and her family, as well as her brother Glenn Shearer. Susie's family would also like to thank the kind and loving staff at Driftwood Health Care Center for all the compassion and love they showed to Susie in her last few years.
