Catherine Ann Ferraro

Resident of Santa Cruz
Catherine Ferraro passed away on September 25, 2012 after a brief stay at Capitola Manor. She was 93. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 15, 1919, the daughter of Steve and Palma (Greco) Ferraro. She moved to Redwood City as a young child where she grew up and attended school in San Mateo County. Catherine worked many years as a Municipal Court Clerk in San Mateo County and retired to Santa Cruz in 1975.
She regularly attended mass at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church and was a Dominican Hospital Auxiliary volunteer. Catherine enjoyed traveling and playing bingo.
She is survived by her niece, Susan Schreiber and her husband, Marty Schreiber of Santa Cruz and four great nieces and nephews. Catherine was preceded in death by her sister, Providence Siracusa in October 2008 and her two nephews, Allan Giansiracusa in April 2012 and Steven Siracusa in November 2009.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Villa Maria Del Mar on Friday October 5, 2012 at 10:00 am. A private entombment will take place at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St Judes Childrens Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Dominican Hospital 1555 Soquel Dr, Santa Cruz, CA 95065 or to a Catholic .
