Resident of Watsonville
Beloved Dad to 3 sons, Calin Smith (44), Cale Smith (41) and David Hennessey (35), and 'Grandpa Chris' to his two grand children, Makenan (7) Wyatt (4). He is survived by his younger siblings, Kent and Kyle Smith, and sister, Molly Sullivan, all in Hawaii.
Dad was always there to support his kids and grandkids in whatever they were doing. Often, he'd be the only person watching, always early to show up, so that he wouldn't miss a thing. His patience was beyond compare. He worked at West Marine (22 yrs) until the end.... always concerned that his help was needed, never really considering retiring.
He will be missed, especially when looking for him in the crowd.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Mehl's Colonial Chapel was entrusted with funeral arrangements.

I have known Chris since I stared working at West Marine since 1999. His presence is greatly missed in the deptartment. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends as they grieve for their loss. I'm going to miss him.
