Resident of Soquel
Services will be in Soquel on Sunday for Jeffrey Stephensen Smith who died August 16, 2012 at his Soquel home . He was 28 years old. Jeff was born in Santa Cruz on June 22, 1984 to Riley Smith and Martha Kenealy. He attended Live Oak School, Shoreline Middle School, and graduated from Soquel High. Jeff was a talented self-employed automobile mechanic who especially loved working on old cars and hot rods.
When Jeff was not working on cars, he loved being with his daughter Shelby and his wife Amanda. He enjoyed being around his friends and had a soft spot for his dogs Hank and Patrick. Jeff will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a kind, funny, and generous person who was a devoted and loving father.
He is survived by his wife Amanda Sloan-Smith; his daughter Shelby Smith; his parents Riley Smith Martha Kenealy; his sister Wendy Smith; his brothers Jory Singer, Niles Kenealy, Adam Nance. Friends an family will gather on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at the Congregational Church of Soquel (4951 Soquel Dr. Soquel, CA 95073) from at 3:00 p.m. to 6 p.m. to share and celebrate Jeff's life. I'll never forget the day you brought Shelby to my home just a few weeks old and beautiful...how you gleamed with love and pride for her, I knew at that moment you were so in love. I'm truly sorry to those you left behind and especially Shelby who will only know you thru those who knew you. You will be missed by us all. My condolences and prayers to your family.

Dearest Jeffy, I am missing you standing here in the kitchen just talking about how fabulous Shelby is. I am going to miss fixing you something to eat. I will miss your smoked and bar-b-q meat. There are just so many wonderful things I will miss about you. Thank you for the many, many things you did to help me and Noni. We will always love you.
