Karen Fisher Obituary

Resident of Freedom
Karen passed away at home with her family at her side following a long battle with cancer. She was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, a caring daughter, sister, and a friend to all.
Karen was a graduate of Watsonville High School. She was a Teacher's Aide for the Pajaro Valley Unified School District for 30 years. She worked for the school district until she was too ill to continue. Karen was also a longtime Sunday School Teacher at her church.
Karen is survived by her husband of 44 years Ken Fisher; her children, Kevin Fisher and Kristi Torkos; mother, Nadine Bowman; brother Rick Elliott; sisters Wanda Cortez, Connie Caves and Judy Dutra; and four grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Karen's life on Saturday, September 15th at 1:30 p.m. at the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, 2151 Freedom Blvd., Freedom, CA 95019. Arrangements entrusted to Santa Cruz Memorial, Santa Cruz.

Fisher Family,
I am praying for healing and peace for all of you and I love you all so much. I just want you do know that Karen has been the most inspirational person to impact my life and that very few moments go by that I don't think about how she is the rock of my faith and has made such an impact on my life. If it was not for Karen I would not be the person I am today and would not have the passion to live a life so centered on God. She will be missed dearly but I know that she will be an amazing guardian angel. I love you all and will continue to be praying for you through this hard time.

Karen will be so missed! I grew up in church with the Fishers, and love them all. I hated to hear of how sick she was and am thankful that her suffering is over. Much love and prayers for Ken, Kevin, and Kristi right now!
