Private committal services have been held for Kenneth Noel New, 52, who died on August 8th at his home in Gilroy. Ken was laid to rest next to his mother, Judith Noel New, in the Santa Cruz Memorial Park Mission Mausoleum
Ken was born in Santa Cruz on January 17, 1960. He attended local schools graduating from Santa Cruz High School. After graduation Ken joined the Army working in the trucking and heavy equipment detail. After being honorably discharged he went on to drive trucks as his career.
Ken was interested in motorcycles from the time he was a child. He enjoyed riding everything from dirt bikes to his Harley. Ken was an avid San Francisco Giants fan. He loved playing baseball in Santa Cruz youth leagues and many saw a potential that could have carried him far if he had decided to make baseball his career.
Ken is survived by his son Casey Reedy of Oregon, brother Douglas New, sister Kelly Pettit, longtime girlfriend Mona Trivino and nephew Cody Pettit. Ken was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth Duane New and Judith Noel New.
