Resident of Scotts Valley
On December 30, 2012 Phyllis Diane White passed away peacefully after a long fight against Multiple Myeloma, and Breast Cancer. Phyllis was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan and passed away in Scotts Valley, California. Phyllis was a graduate of Loy Norrix High School in Kalamazoo as well as receiving degrees from Western Michigan University, Nazareth College, and Clark College.
While Phyllis enjoyed knitting, cross-stitching, gardening, and trips to Reno and Las Vegas, her true passion was the 25 years she devoted to helping others as a Registered Nurse. Phyllis worked at the Portland Ore VA, St. Johns Hospital in Longview, Wa, Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Gatos and finally retired from the Community Hospital of Los Gatos. Phyllis excelled in her career and spent many years serving as a supervisor for the various hospitals.
Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Les who was at her side at her passing. Phyllis is also survived by her faithful Shih Tzu dogs Max and Sophie. Phyllis was preceded in death by her father Karl Yucker, and her mother Pauline Missias.
Services for Phyllis D. White will be held on Monday January 7, 2013 at 11:00am at the Pacific Gardens Chapel. Interment will follow at the Soquel Cemetery. The family requests that donations, in lieu of flowers be sent to either Hospice of Santa Cruz or the Santa Cruz County SPCA.

She was one of the good nurses who gave me a good orientation at CHLG 10 years ago. A very helpful and all around nurse. I pray that your soul be received in heaven by your angels and our God. Rest in paradise, Phyllis.
