Robert Heppe Obituary

Robert N. Heppe
Feb.21,1935-Jan.18,2013
Resident of Soquel
Robert Nelson Heppe of Soquel, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on January 18, 2013. Robert was a strong, quiet, resilient soul through his health issues, and was a very proud man of his life, family, and his "homestead" he maintained with his own hands.
Bob was born in Oakland, California in 1935. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the Army for a few years being stationed in Germany. Upon returning from Germany, he enrolled and graduated from San Jose State University. He earned his teaching credential, and later in life went back to obtain his Masters Degree. While going to college, he met the love of his life, Ruby Ardell Jorgenson, whom he married in 1960. They raised their family in Soquel, and were always active in their children's activities. Bob Ruby loved their church, square dancing, and traveling in their 5th wheel trailer.
Bob's career as an Elementary Junior High School teacher spanned 40 years, teaching in the Pajaro Valley School District, and retiring from Pajaro Junior High in Watsonville. His passion to work on cars at home and with his hands tools in his woodshop at school, and educating young minds was reflected in his character, soul and wonderful human spirit.
Bob is survived by; his four children, Robbin Heppe, Rene'e Robe (David), Robert Heppe (Chihoko), and Rashell Volpi; his brother Lawrence Heppe (Myrna) of Nevada City, CA; his six beautiful granddaughters Kaitlyn, Mary, Shelby, Abigail, Jennifer, Ashley; his adorable great-grandson Daniel; and several cousins, a niece and nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years Ruby, his first born daughter Roberta, and his parents Marion Beatrice Heppe.
The family would like to express their appreciation to all of Bob's caregivers for their commitment, caring and compassion.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, 2500 Soquel Drive, Santa Cruz, CA. Bob was very proud of serving in the Army-Donations may be made in some manner to support the Veterans of America and to Cindy's Celebrations.

So sorry to hear of your father.

January 28, 2013

We were so sad to hear that Bob has passed away. We moved to Sonora seven years ago and haven't seen him, but we knew he wasn't doing well. We square danced with Bob and Ruby for years and loved both of them. They both were good people and fun to be around.
