Services will be held on Saturday for Rubin Grazian who passed away at home with his family at his side, he was 88 years old. Rubin was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois moving to Santa Cruz in 1946 and later to Watsonville in 1952 where he has resided until his passing. Rubin served in the US Army during World War II in the South Pacific earning the Purple Heart. He owned and operated various fast food restaurants and Laundromats in the County, the Foster Freeze in Watsonville; the Dairy Queen in Capitola and Mama and Papa Bears Laundromat in Freedom to name of few. Rubin enjoyed raising birds such as Canneries, Cockatiels, Doves, Homing Pigeons and Roller Pigeons. Rubin was a faithful member of Bethel Tabernacle church for 54 years serving on the Board and was responsible for the church facilities. Rubin is survived by his wife, Pearl Grazian; his sons and daughter-in-laws; Terry and Barbara Grazian; Larry and Janette Grazian; David and Sandy Grazian: Dennis and Cindy Grazian; 10 grandchildren: 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 13th, 2012 beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the Bethel Tabernacle Church in Watsonville. Parking can be found at 31 Carr Street. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Youth N.O.W., (A program of Eternity Works, a 501(c) (3) nonprofit); 124 East Lake Ave. Watsonville, CA 95076. Arrangements are under the direction of Santa Cruz Watsonville Cremation Burial Service.
