Francis "Fran" Miller , 91, died peacefully in his home on November 15, 2013.
Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, he survived the Depression and went on to serve as a pilot in the United States Army Air Corps during
. He flew the Pacific transporting supplies, evacuating the wounded and was selected for a number of top security assignments, one of which was to fly the Japanese surrender papers back to Washington, DC.
Fran pursued a successful career in sales and high level management within IBM and enjoyed a long, travel and activity filled retirement, residing in Aptos, CA for the past 25 years.
He is survived by his daughters, Sallie, Lisa, Jennifer, Lynne and Lauren and long-time companion Audrey Twisselman.
He will be missed and remembered at a gathering of family and friends on Saturday, January 11, 4 pm, at the home of Lisa and Dennis Anderson, 433 Palisades Avenue, Santa Cruz, CA 95062.
