March 7, 1971 - March 2, 2013
Resident of Santa Cruz
Jeff Oellerich, a resident of Santa Cruz since 2002, died at his home on March 2, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Jeff was born on March 7, 1971 in Cottage Grove, Minnesota to Bob and Kay Oellerich. He attended the University of Minnesota and graduated in 1993 with a double major in Political Science and Urban Studies. He started his career with Norwest Bank in Minnesota as a teller in 1993. After many promotions and the Norwest/Wells Fargo Bank merger, he moved to Santa Cruz and became the District Manager for the Santa Cruz/South Silicon District for the past 11 years. He was an exceptional leader.
When he wasn't working, Jeff enjoyed bicycling, running, traveling around the world, cooking and spending time with his friends. He was the perfect host to many Saturday night barbeques or Sunday dinners.
Jeff is survived by his parents, Bob and Kay Oellerich, his sister Teri (Kevin) Burns and his brother Michael (Kathy) Oellerich. He also had several nieces and nephews: Brian (Amber) Burns, Patrick Burns, Aaron Burns, Christopher Burns, Tony Oellerich, Jenny Oellerich, and Dana Burns. He is also survived by the family of friends he created in Santa Cruz and his beloved cats Gogo and Maude.
Services were held in Chanhassen, Minnesota on March 7. There will be a celebration of his life in Santa Cruz in Mid April.
Hospice of Santa Cruz was an integral part of Jeff's last few months. Donations to Hospice of Santa Cruz in his memory would be greatly appreciated.
