Paul R. Mahler|
Resident of Aromas
Paul R. Mahler passed away surrounded by his loving family at his home in Aromas on Sunday, March 17, 2013. He just had his 78th birthday on March 8th.
Paul was born in Hereford, Texas but has lived in the Aromas area for the past 67 years.
Paul loved to work with his hands, both at home and at work. He was an electrician for 37 years at the Logan Quarry for Granite Rock. But it was at home where his creative mind was really used. He had designed and built dune buggies, slot cars, and boats to name just a few his many projects. He even designed and built the home he and his wife of 60 years lived in. Paul would create anything that would or could make his life easier, or more fun.
Paul was a man of many hobbies and interests. He stayed busy within the community as a volunteer fireman, belonged to the Mason Lodge and Elks Lodge for many years and served on the Water Board. He also loved to go boating and fishing with his family and friends, fly remote control airplanes, play pool and play the guitar.
Paul is survived by his wife, Bonnie Mahler of Aromas; children, Ken (Brenda) Mahler and Kevin (Melanie) Mahler and Cindy (Paul) Lerma all of Aromas; brothers, Von Mahler of Watsonville and Dennis Mahler of Hollister. He was also survived by his many loving grandchildren; Kevin, Kyle Shawn, Megan, Ignacio, Alli and Cody; and great grandchildren, Shealyn, Kenny, Emma and Everett.
Funeral services will be held at the Aromas Bible Church on Saturday, March 23rd at 10:00 a.m. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Mehl's Colonial Chapel was entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
