I miss our times together, . I used to show up for drum circle early , and robert would be sleeping at circle. He would wake up, share his pipe with me and we would start playing until everybody else showed up. He also used to let my son play his drum at circle.. You tube" drum circle the movie".. I had no idea of his travels at the time. What a human.... I miss our times together..

Robert was the time keeper at our weekly circle in santa cruz. He was the most gentle sharing caring person I have ever known. Now he plays for a bigger circle.
He is in good hands.. rip Brother robert

So sorry to see you go, Bruce. I really enjoyed hanging out and drumming with you at our Drum Circle every Wednesday afternoon. So long my friend, until we meet again on the other side.

We washed some birds together in 1989. Always wondered where he ended up. RIP brother.

Kristi from Seward Alaska. "Spaceman" Bruce was such a fixture back in the late 70's, early 80's, walking into town along the highway in the dead of winter with his dogs and without his shoes. I had many encounters with Bruce at the Mini Mall. He was sepcial as well as odd. His own drummer and all that. He will always be a part of Seward Alaska and I know I speak for many when I say those of us that have live here at least 35 years remember him fondly. Spaceman, RIP. kal

I knew Spaceman Bruce in Seward Alaska in 1976. He was so smart and kind. I always wondered what had happened to him, finally hearing from friends in Seward that he landed in Santa Cruz after an 18 year trek down the coast. I had been hoping to make a trip down to CA to look him up- I wondered if he would remember me. He was a kind soul, very much misunderstood. I am glad for the love of the people who showed compassion for him in Santa Cruz. thank you. God bless you Bruce.

I saw Robert walking around with no shoes, guitar, pack, hat with a feather, and minding his own business. I walked by him on the santa cruz levee feeding a blue heron, I knew he was a special person. Blue herons don't let just any one feed them. Just so you know that some of us knew Robert as that person....
