The Gentle Wind

Walk out to the gentle wind
Where felt to the lobe hear my name
Walk out in the sun
Where felt to the skin receive my warm embrace
Walk out in the rain, and hear my voice in the drops upon the pavement
Walk out to waters
Hear my song and be consoled
For I am not mere memory,
Nor dead tissue, or lying bone
In time turned back to dust, left as grateful reminder
For a life gifted to us, but never ours to keep
But now, my spirit is stretched out and reborn to the stars
I retake my belonging to the entire
It is all I have always been
I am a thing still here, but now everywhere, again
As we all once were
As we all have always been
In your thoughts, fly with me
Above the wind, and clouds
To a place before our birth
A place of unconscious longing
Where there is weightless, joyful love
Where we are one, again
Until there is no me or you
For now, my name is in the air you breath
My love will light dark corners where you cannot see
It will guide you into places you are afraid to go
Feel me, as I am there, waiting
Free me for I will always be
All that I have ever been is what I have to offer you
I have known you and you me, always
I am forever to be
Walk out to the gentle wind

See you there, Shawn

AN ODE TO SHAWN.....by VIRGINIA D'Amico......The still surrounds me..And memories linger on..I seek to find you, from dusk 'til dawn..Be gone Oh wretched stealer of dreams..Let me embrace all that life means..A warm caress..A sweet kiss..Upon the cheek of the Grandson I miss..You are only but a thought away..An ever present light..A beacon to guide, though you're out of sight..You were a gift..A treasure to share..As you gave of yourself, without any wear..Glad are the hearts of all who knew..The love, the spirit..The man who was you!!!

Missing your face....missing your phone calls....missing the way you would say,"Hi Grandma".....missing everything about you....your winning smile....your kindness....your sense of humor....the respect you held for yourself and for others....your appreciation for friends and, most especially, for family! Each day brings another delightful memory of the fun times in watching you grow from that sweet little boy to the wonderful man that you became......Loving you to Eternity and beyond, Grandma!!!

I knew Shawn only through the stories his mother told me ... all blessed with smiles, and courage, and hope, and bravery. Life, spirit, universe, loving, is not bounded by our physical selves, nor by our sight/touch/sound. Shawn is forever, and he is with us, and we with him, and it is good.

I read somewhere that every individual is sent to earth to accomplish an assigned mission by GOD..that mission may take some or many years. In your case Shawn, your mission was very short. Too short indeed! But, increadiably enough, you've impacted many ...many people; even those that didn't get to personally meet you..like me. Yet I got to know you through the woman that knows you best & loves you forever and ever ..your MOM! Ofelia Rodriguez

The loss of someone special is always a great loss
It always leaves a void behind... hard to fill deep inside us.
All the laughter...all the smiles... and even all the tears
All summed up to a great memory conjured up by many years.
God chose him to be in His kingdom and took him there
Because good angels like him, God knows that are rare.
Rest in Peace Shawn, I never got the pleasure of meeting you but your dear mother Elaine was my sister's co-worker and I know she loves you very much.

Dear Shawn -
Although I never had the pleasure of meeting you in person I KNEW you so well from knowing your dear Mother, Elaine, from work in New York and the many, many emails we shared the past few years. You are a very brave soul and will be sorely missed. What a blessing your family had in having such a special man in their lives. May your strength and courage live on in them. Lynn Osborn

Dear Shawn, the world looks very different today without you. We remember with delight those times when you were easily moved to laughter and spoke lovingly of your parents, grandparents, wife, relatives, and friends, all of whom were such a big part of the wonderful gift and legacy that was your life. Please save us a place at the table when someday we'll all reunite in love and happy fellowship. Love always, Uncle Tommy

May the Lord ease the way...and give you comfort in your time of need. How blessed all of you were to have this beautiful man in your life. He was a gift from above. Treasure all each of you shared with him. God bless his wife, loving Mother, and family.

Dearest Nephew, Shawn, You were loved by so many and gave so much. Your view of life was always inspiring to everyone you knew. I will always remember how you loved your Yankees, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Bob Marley. You knew how to enjoy life and tried to share that feeling with the rest of us. Thank you for your sense of humor, your willingness to help others when asked, your kindness to animals and your never-ending gift for good conversation. You displayed such tenderness to your loving wife, Gretchen and she to you. I am so lucky to have had such a wonderful nephew and proud of your strength. I will see you in the Great Hereafter... Love, Aunt Sheryl
