Teresita Brady Obituary

Teresita N. Brady
July 23, 1995 - March 1, 2015
Resident of Soquel
Friends and family will gather in Santa Cruz today, March 7th, to say farewell to our daughter, our sister, our friend – a beautiful young woman who never stopped aspiring to be as beautiful inside as she was outside. Teresita was on a journey; a journey to find her place in life, a journey to learn who she was, a journey to find her purpose. She was born in Santa Clara; her brief life journey here was was cut short on March 1, in a fatal car accident. Her spirit lives on, inspiring us to be better than we are.
Teresita was adopted into the Brady family when she was young. Dad Paddy, mom Gerlinde, sisters Shannon, Bridget, Fiona and Ejay, as well as a large local extended family of uncles, aunts, cousins, and dear friends all loved her.
By the time Teresita was welcomed into the Brady clan, she had already experienced so much, acting as a protector and overcoming difficult circumstances to become the beautiful, young woman we knew.
Teresita was a hard worker. She graduated from Soquel High School in 2013. Most recently, she was working as a hostess at The Chophouse in Pleasure Point. Before that, Teresita joined her dad Paddy in serving the local homeless community, passing out sleeping bags and serving food to those in need. As a teenager, she worked the whole day tirelessly, without complaining, taking on a leadership role beyond her years. These were some of her happiest days.
Teresita was only 19 years young, still finding her way. Yet even in that short time, she touched us all; reminding us to live in the moment, and to love each other.
Teresita's sister, Fiona, remembers that, unlike the other sisters, Teresita never had to be woken up in the morning. She woke up one her own, always.
Her dad Paddy remembers her love of the beach and the ocean. The first time he took her surfing, he saw that she was a natural longboarder with good balance, gracefulness, and an affinity for the ocean.
Teresita loved cats in the way that only a true animal lover could understand. And they loved her. Anywhere she went, if there was a cat, it became her cat.
Teresita loved to watch the sitcom FRIENDS with her sisters, and had seen every episode at least twenty times. She and her sisters Fiona and Ejay would critique each episode looking for inconsistencies. Teresita was the best at this. She missed nothing.
Teresita's family fondly remembers the annual Disneyland trips and the winter ski trips where dad Paddy tried to eke every last minute out of those lift tickets and Teresita was usually the last one standing.
Teresita was smart, funny, kind and talented; a gentle soul who will be sorely missed. The memorial will be held at 1:30 p.m on Saturday March 7, at Santa Cruz Bible Church (440 Frederick Street, Santa Cruz 95062) Any kind acts of charity can be made to a memorial fund established at Santa Cruz Bible Church. All proceeds of the fund will go to the aid of the party who was injured in the Ford Truck. (Check memo-Teresita)

Prayers to Teresita's family and friends... She sounds like a beautiful soul that God and Heaven needed back before those left here on Earth wanted to let go of... And, God bless Teresita N. Brady

"T", as Chloe always lovingly referred to her as, will be sorely missed. I remember the night, not too long ago when we all got together to go see "PitBull" in San Jose as I was the driver to a group of these beautiful girls, Teresita included in the bunch. She was a part of our family for so long and our little Benja just ADORED her! He always wanted to hug her and vice versa. We have a framed a photo of her holding Benja when he was a baby up in our home in Tahoe. I remember her and Chloe cackling and giggling like teenagers do, ALL THE TIME! :)))

We are in absolute disbelief, and our hearts ache for our loss and heaven's gain. Our prayers are with her family and all the families involved in this time.

We will forever miss and remember your beautiful smile sweet Teresita <3

Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Teresita personally, her name was familiar in my household as a friend to my daughter, from a very young age (Bible study @ SCBC) as well as throughout their school years.
I literally felt sick when I read/heard the news of her passing as I too lost my son at the young age of 15 several years ago. Naturally I know exactly what you, her loving family is enduring & my heart breaks for all of you. From all I have heard, read & seen the past few days, she was truly a beautiful soul inside & out & will be missed tremendously by all who's lives she touched. I'm so deeply sorry.
