Resident of Santa Cruz
Paul Bernard was born in Caplan, on the Gaspe Penisula, Quebec, Canada. He spent most of his youth in Alberta, Canada. He came to California delivering bees to a beekeeper. He fell in love with California and stayed on to work for a while with the beekeeper until he went to college to earn his bachelor's degree. He worked as a language teacher, French, Spanish, and ESL in Southern California and Monterey County. He moved to Santa Cruz after retirement in 2004. He was a kind, gentle soul - a real gentleman. He loved music, theatre, festivals, cooking and hiking. He was a fun loving individual whose was always up for anything going on in Santa Cruz.
He is survived by his loving partner, Paula Maziar; son Philippe of El Cerrito; daughter Micheline of Salinas; sisters Adrienne. Audrey, Lyse, Reine and Nicole; brothers Maurice and Raymond; and many nieces and nephews - all living in Canada.
