Cita Rosemond Emmons, often referred to as "Mama Cita" by her friends and family, passed away Tuesday November 19th, 2013 at age 88.
A native of California, Cita Rosemund Pealatere was born in San Francisco. She lived a colorful and full life, from an impoverished youth to a world traveler. She was a published short-story author, an artist, and a lover of all music from classical to contemporary. She loved to travel and had the courage to take many trips on her own as well as with loved ones. These would include several solo cross-country road trips, countless sailing trips with her husband William, deep sea fishing adventures and travels abroad to experience foreign culture. Cita was known for having an accepting heart and displayed a love for a wide cross section of people from all ages and walks of life. From politics to football, horse shows to little league Grandma, she enthusiastically enjoyed life to its fullest. One particularly favorite time of her life was being the "SAG" wagon for long-distance cyclists, providing unwavering volunteer support for weary cyclists on long rides. She was a loving mother of three children, one grand child, and wife of 57 years to her husband, whom she affectionately referred to as "Papa."
Mrs. Emmons is survived by her daughter, Ann Dee Hafner and son-in-law Josef Hafner, her Daughter Lisa Ellis and son-in-law Edwin Ellis, her son Allen Woodrich, her grandson Christopher Jonsson and Christopher's father, Steven Jonsson.
Mrs. Emmons husband William Emmons, mother Hazel Berry Sims, father Frances Pealatere and her siblings passed prior.
Services will be held privately for family and close friends.
