Quinlan Alldredge Obituary
Quinlan Alldredge
January 7, 1997 - March 17, 2016
Native of Santa Cruz

Friends and family will gather in Santa Cruz on Thursday, March 24, 2016 to say their goodbyes to a loving son, brother and devoted friend. Quinlan Oscar Alldredge unexpectedly passed away at his Soquel home. He was 19. Quinlan was born at Dominican Hospital, attended Good Shepherd Elementary School and New Brighton Middle School. Quinlan renewed his spirit while attending Arivaca Boys Ranch in Arizona, and it was there that he crossed the bridge to understanding his potential working with horses.
Apprenticing as a farrier, Quinlan learned that he had a true talent training horses. He was very proud of completing his apprenticeship and was working on other opportunities while attending Pacific Coast Horseshoeing School. Quinlan graduated from high school in Placer, California and worked as an apprentice; learning more and more about his trade. He was a member of The American Farriers Association and leaves many colleagues, friends, equine experts, and ranch hands, who will miss his genuine style.
His gentle manner and patience with horses also transcended into his people skills. There will be cherished memories shared of Quinlan's charismatic personality. It certainly seemed that people and animals gravitated to him, as he had the special ability to make a stranger feel as if he were a longtime friend.
He enjoyed surfing, fishing, skateboarding, was a talented little league baseball player, and competed in the Capitola Junior Life Guard Program. He is survived by his parents, Toni and Gary Alldredge of Soquel, his sister and brother-in-law, Ayla and Chris Smith of Corralitos; his sister, Salina Flores of Soquel, along with many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and extended family from Space 1 especially Austin Turnell.
A blessing ceremony and an opportunity to wish Quinlan well on his new journey, will be on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, beginning at 2 p.m. Any kind acts of charity can be made in his memory to Arivaca Boys Ranch, PO Box 547, Arivaca, AZ 85601.
