MARTINA VIGIL Obituary

MARTINA O. VIGIL Age 90, a resident of Cundiyo, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, Liborio Vigil; parents, Eduardo and Pablita Ortiz; sisters, Elsie Sandoval and Vicenta Lujan and brother, Armando Ortiz. Martina departed suddenly after living a long and healthy life. As a young lady she left from Nambe to work in the smelters then headed to work in the shipyards. She then came home and married Liborio and raised her daughter Helen and cared for their home. She enjoyed camping and fishing with her family and friends. Mrs. Vigil is survived by her daughter, Helen Sandoval and husband Gene; grandchildren, Denise and Matthew Rivera, Gina Sandoval and David Martinez, Cresenciano Sandoval, Kristie Sandoval and James Perea, Santiago and Estevan Rivera, Toby Perea and Kaleb Rivera; brothers and sisters, Orlando and Anita Ortiz, Clyde and Maria Ortiz, and Laura McCloud, in-laws, Merced Sandoval, Gabrielita Ortega, Amelia Vigil and Celina Rivera and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo with a rosary to be recited at 9:00 a.m. and Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at 2:15 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Ronnie Lujan, Bobby Vigil, Randy McCloud, James Perea, Gabriel Ortiz and Brian Vigil.
