Modesto Gurule

Modesto Gurule Modesto Gurule passed away peacefully on 01/26/13 after a short illness. Born on 1/27/1927 to Teodoro and Juanita. He served in the Army and was a veteran of World War II. Modesto worked as a truck driver for the Houston Lumber Company. Preceeded in death by his parents, four siblings, and his son Modie Gurule Jr. He is survived by his loving wife Rita, sister Adelina Salazar, sons Joseph (Teri), Robert (Terri), daughters in law Gloria Gurule (Paul), Carmela Winneberger (George). Grandchildren Camille Gonzales (Charles), Emmett Gurule (Vanessa), Marlena Unis (C.J.), Eric Gurule (Amanda), Christopher Gurule (Brooke), Joey Gurule (Melissa), Tara Valdez. Great grandchildren Charles Modie and Ari Gonzales, Sofia, Emma, Gianna Gurule, Cian and Zain Unis, Cassandra and Alexandra Gurule, Nicholas "Blue" Gurule, Cheyenne Valdez, Emily Gurule. Pompo's grandchildren and great grandchildren were the love of his life. Sisters in law Sally Baca (Paul), Mary Cannon, Francis Palombi, brothers in law Manuel Montoya, Johnny Montoya (Diana). Many loving nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Kastendieck, Dr. Press, Tina Marie Gonzales, Gerard Gonzales, Father Leo. Pompo will be so greatly missed, and as he would say, "Ay te watcho palomo." A rosary will be recited at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Santa Fe on Monday, February 4th at 10:00 am where there will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
