CORA P. GONZALES August 25, 1932 - December 6, 2012 Cora Gonzales, age 82, went home to the Lord on 12/06/12 surrounded by her beloved husband of 52 years and many friends and family members. Cora was born on August 15, 1930 to Miguel Padilla and Rafelita Garduño (né) in Waldo, NM. She graduated from Madrid High School in 1950. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and two brothers. Cora will be remembered by her beautiful smile, kind heart, and great cooking. She brought much joy to many with her generous and loving spirit. Cora was a member of the Third Secular Order of Mount Carmel and a member of the Catholic Daughter of the Americas, Ct. No. 2254. Cora is survived by her husband, Jose Alfonso Gonzales; son, Fr. Ronald D. Gonzales, S.J. of San Antonio, TX, and her daughter Margaret Gonzales and husband Thomas Kehoe of Livermore, CA; brother, Frank Padilla and wife JoAnn of Albuquerque, NM; brother-in-law, Ken Carter of Rio Rancho, NM.; brothers and sisters-in-law: Frank Gonzales; Stella Gonzales; Joe E. Gonzales (Enriqueta); Sr. Angelina Gonzales; Jessie Kowalski (Jim); Gilbert Gonzales (Lucille); Jean Gonzales; Gloria Fresques (Jake); special friends Aurora Oritz, Ida Sandoval and all Catholic Daughters and many very dear nieces, nephews and godchildren. Serving as Pallbearers are Mark Fresques, Sam Gonzales, Arthur Gonzales, Chad Van Pelt, Joe Padilla, Robert Padilla. Honorary Pallbearers are Janelle Gonzales, Joe F. Grill, Karl Grill, Frankie Gonzales, Johnny Gonzales, Bernie Valdez. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Norbert Archibeque on Monday, December 10 at 6:00 pm at Cristo Rey Church. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated by Rev. Adam Ortega y Ortiz on Tuesday, December 11 at 1:00 pm at Cristo Rey Church. Graveside burial will follow at 3:00 pm at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Immediately following the burial services is the reception at Santa Maria De la Paz Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary donations be made to the Carmelite Monastery, 49 Mount Carmel Road, Santa Fe, NM.
