JOSE FORTINO MARTINEZ APRIL 19, 1913 - MARCH 22, 2013 Jose Fortino Martinez, born in Ojo de la Vaca, NM, on April 19, 1913 to Isidro Martinez and Gertrude Garcia Martinez, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on March 22, 2013. Fortino was a carpenter by trade and worked for many construction companies. He served in the Army during World War ll. He enjoyed the outdoors and sharing his childhood memories with family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his wife, Josie Martinez; sisters: Andreita and husband Cornelio Lopez, Adelina and husband Max Padilla, Josephine and husband Cecil Rodriquez, Sophie and husband Alfonso Abeyta, Margaret and husband Victor Gallegos, Delores and husband Johnny Gallegos; brothers: Frank and wife Tommie Martinez, Bernabe and wife Lourdes Martinez, Bobby Martinez; sister-in-law, Eliza and husband Higinio Rodriguez; Feliberto and wife Maida Duran, Rubel and wife Genoveva Duran, Eugenio Duran, and Ernesto and Rose Duran. He is survived by his children: Ray and wife Theresa Martinez, Rosina and husband Wilfred Ortiz, Jake Martinez, Antonio Martinez; brother, Richard Martinez and wife Aurora; sister, Tina and husband Fidel Otero; grandchildren: Melanie Ortiz, Leo Ortiz, Gina Ortiz, James Martinez, Maria Martinez, Christopher Martinez, who will also be serving as pallbearers, and Amber Martinez; great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Martinez and Marcus Martinez; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 5 - 7 pm at Beradinelli Family Funeral Service, 1399 Luisa St., Santa Fe, NM. A Rosary will follow at 7 pm. Funeral mass will be Wednesday, March 27 at 10 am at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Burial will be Thursday, March 28 at 11:15 am at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
