LAWRENCE "LUCIO" MONTOYA June 26, 1944 - January 16, 2013 Lawrence "Lucio" Montoya passed away at his home on January 16, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife, Priscilla, of 48 years; his son, Lawrence (Sonya); daughter, Barbara (Richie); grandchildren: Lawrence (Andrea), Daniel (Yolanda), Dominic, Davonne, Brianna, Tameera and Gavin; great grandson, Daniel; great grandbaby on the way; sisters-in-law: Mae (Eloy), Dolores, Frances, Geneva; sisters: Fabiola and Helen (Gilbert); brother-in-law, Tony (Betty); and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. He cherished playing with his grandchildren and telling them stories about his childhood and spending time with his family. Family was extremely important to him. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Yvonne; parents, Miguel and Clara; mother and father-in-law, Antonio and Isabel; and son-in-law Daniel. He was born and raised in Las Tusas, New Mexico. He served in the United States Army and was a Lieutenant at the State Penitentiary. He loved spending time at the ranch and being outdoors, especially hunting with family and friends and spending time with his bible studies with Jehovah's Witnesses. The pallbearers are: Lawrence Montoya Jr., Lawrence Montoya III, Daniel Romero, Bobby Mendenhall, Ron Madrid, Jason Madrid, Ivan Montoya and Rodney Mascarenas. Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren. Services are scheduled for January 24, 2013 at Berardinelli Funeral Home in Santa Fe. Viewing from 10 to 11 a.m., Services from 11 to Noon and Burial at the National Cemetery at 12:45.
