Manuel A. Carrillo 1/1/1934 - 11/18/2012 Manuel A. Carrillo, a native resident of Santa Fe, New Mexico, ended his journey here on earth with his family at his side only to begin his eternal life with our Lord and Savior on November 18, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andres and Amy Carrillo; and father and mother-in-law Tito and Elvira Romero. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Rosemary; son Kenneth (Cindy); daughters Consuelo and Angela; lights of his life, granddaughters Cameron and Cadence; sister Consuelo Pena (Pete); brother Edward Carrillo (Margie); sister Florence Sanchez (Lupe); brother Albert Carrillo (Gina); special uncle Frank "Pancho" Dofflemeyer (Carmen); brothers-in-law Tito and J.D. Romero and sister-in-law Cindy Romero; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. He served his country proudly and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps. Retired from the State Highway Department and continued for years after as a surveyor. He was a proud member of the Los Hermanos Cruzados. He had a passion for life, humor, and spending time with his family and friends. He loved Fiestas, spending time in Mexico, Mariachi music, fishing with his buddies, going to the Senior Center, going to any casino, having Thursday morning breakfast with his friends, "supervising" Christmas Eve Luminarias on Banana Hill, watching his Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football and UNM Lobos Men's Basketball. Anyone who crossed his path always laughed and smiled and would leave with happiness in their hearts; honoring that, in our hearts and in his spirit all will be Honorary Pallbearers. A Rosary will be recited on Monday, November 26, 2012, at 6:30 p.m; Mass of Christian Burial celebrated on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. both at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, Santa Fe, NM; burial will follow with full military honors, at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:15 a.m. Luncheon to celebrate Manuel's life will be at the Elks Lodge, 1615 Old Pecos Trail, Santa Fe, NM, following all services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his name to the Carmelite Monastery, 50 Mount Carmel, Santa Fe, NM 87501.
