RALPH THALER Age 93, a longtime resident of Santa Fe, passed away on January 4, 2013, and was interred in Memorial Gardens in Santa Fe. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Irma Cobert Thaler; his daughters, Audrey De Chadenedes and Nancy Thaler; a granddaughter, Valerie De Chadenedes; and his sister, Sylvia Lifshitz; his brother, Seymour Thaler, preceded him in death. He was born in New York City on October 26, 1919 to Herman and Annie Thaler and married Irma Cobert on June 29, 1947. He attended City College of New York where he obtained his accounting degree. He worked as a CPA for the Internal Revenue Service for 30 years before moving to Santa Fe. He served in World War II in the Army Air Corps, stationed in North Africa. He was a pillar of the Santa Fe Jewish Community and a founding member of Temple Beit Tikva. He was defined by his love for family, love for friends, love of knowledge and great generosity. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
