Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mary Pellegrino; his loving wife Marjorie Ann Pell, Granddaughter Denise Susan Griego and Great-Grandson Justin Richard Delval. Richard is survived by his five children and their spouses: Pam Lenhard (George), Jack Pell, Bob Pell (Lani), Gini Griego (Robert), Margie Sena (Daniel), as well as 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Richard was born on November 2, 1920 in New York and adopted by Jack and Mary Pellegrino. There he lived and met his wife, Marjorie and began his family. Richard served his country as a sailor in the Navy. In the 1960s he took a leap of faith when he relocated his family from New York to Las Cruces, NM. This is where he helped Grumman build the Lunar Excursion Module for NASA. After completion of this work in 1973 Richard once again moved his family this time to Santa Fe. Here is where he started the very first Taco Bell franchise in the city. Richard worked to grow the company and expand it to include 2 restaurants in Santa Fe and one in Espanola. He made several contributions to the city with his work and donations. Richard retired and lived out his life in Santa Fe. Serving as Pallbearers are: Bill Delval, Mike Pell, Dan Pell, Rick Pell, Ryan Pell, Jake Sena and Thomas Griego, with Honorary Pallbearers, Sean Delval, Richie Pell, Josh Pell, and Robert Pell.
