Ronald Grow Age 78, of Santa Fe, died November 20 from complications due to a stroke. Ron-G was well known at the Santa Fe Ski Basin where he was a ski instructor for many years most notably at Chipmunk Corner. During summer months he was an interpretive ranger with the National Park Service both in Alaska and Massachusetts. He served in the US Air Force and received his M.A. at UCLA. During the 60s and 70s he was a sculpture professor at UNM and the Maryland Institute College of Art. He exhibited to good review in Washington DC and New York. Other careers included jeweler, carpenter and cabinetmaker. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hiking, skiing, biking, kayaking and motorcycle racing. He is survived by his three children: Geoffrey, Jason and Caitlin Grow; four grandchildren: Jordan, Matilda, Jemima and Maisie Grow; and sister Doreen Askew and niece Shondi Askew of Denver. A memorial service will be planned for next spring.
