SUSAN McMEANS Susan McMeans, nee Luftig, died on June 21, 2012. She was born in Glendale, CA November 10, 1943. She grew up in Los Angeles, moved to the Bay Area where she lived on a houseboat. She came to Taos in 1969 and except for a year living in New York City has been in New Mexico ever since. She leaves her son, Willy Bo Richardson and his wife Kim; her extraordinary granddaughter, Audrey Ace Richardson; her best friend, partner and mate for 35 years, Jerry Ginsburg, they finally got married in 2009; and her brother Dennis and his family. Susie embodied joyous creativity. She was a writer, photographer, potter, and playwright. She was a counselor who inspired her clients. With Jerry she started the first mediation center in Santa Fe. She was an iconoclast, a believer and a seeker. In every moment she chose her own path. She loved laughter and humor and brought her wit and warmth to each moment. She manifested sanctuary and beauty for herself and everyone around her. She fought her illness in her own courageous way, deciding at every juncture how she would proceed. She kept her faith. There will be a private celebration for family, friends, and those whose lives she touched.
