Armando Guadiana Born on February 27, 1959, died on May 13, 2011. Armando finally lost in his struggle with multiple myeloma, though he had successfully won his first battle with this cancer. Born in Indiana, raised there and in Laredo, Texas, Armando moved to Santa Fe and graduated from St. John's College. He completed a master's degree from the University of New Mexico. He was a strong and talented academic who taught for almost two decades, most recently teaching mathematics in both English and Spanish at Capital High School. He possessed a depth of knowledge on a broad range of topics, cooked wonderful meals for his friends, and loved hiking with his dogs. The time he spent with us was too short and we will miss his big smile and his stories, caustic wit and shrewd insight into the human condition. Preceded in death by his father, Jose C. Guadiana. He is survived by his mother, Aurora Gallegos Guadiana of San Antonio, Texas; longtime companion and friend, Maha Khoury of Santa Fe; son, Jose Vincente Arturo Guadiana (Kellie) of Rio Rancho; grandson, Armando Guillermo Roberto Guadiana of Denver, CO; sisters: Martha Sepeda of San Antonio, TX and Leticia Bhutra (Darsh) of San Francisco, CA; brothers: Roberto Guadiana (Leticia) of Austin, TX and Jose Leonel Guadiana (Berta) of Laredo, TX; numerous nieces and nephews; many friends and family; and the generations of students and their families whose lives he enriched. Armando had a green burial and was interred in Santa Fe Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Monday, May 16, 2011. Contributions to environmental groups, local food and shelter providers and public radio are encouraged. Rivera Family Mortuaries and Crematory of Santa Fe Funeral Options 417 East Rodeo Road
