BENNIE MONTANO Bennie Montano, Age 90, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December 11, 2012 following a lengthy illness. Bennie was born July 26, 1922 to Jose and Macedonia Montano. He was a US Marine during WWII and served overseas for 3 years. In 1948 he married Adelina Montoya. He retired from the US Postal Service after 37 years of employment. He was a member of St. Anne's Church. He enjoyed his children and grandchildren and making people laugh with his extraordinary sense of humor. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Adelina Montano; his daughters: Marcia Rivera and "little" Mary; his parents, Jose and Macedonia Montano; brothers, Joe, Louie and Richard (Ida) Montano; sisters, Macedonia Sekot and Fita Sanchez. He is survived by his children: Benjie (Angela), Margaret Montoya (Kenny), Anita Maes (George), Joe (Shiela), Juanita Lucero(Robert), Reynaldo (Mona), Angelina Cedillo (Juan), Arturo (Darlene), Michael (Leslie), Gilbert and Louie (Debbie); son-in-law, Franciso Rivera; sisters, Jane Frank,Rosie Valdez, Francis Carrillo (Phillip), and Margaret Roybal (Roy) ; brother, Rudy Montano(Yvonne); in-laws, Virginia Archuleta (Ruben), and Lucia Roybal, Bill Caperton, Rosina Montoya, Joe Sekot and Benny Sanchez. He is also survived by 31 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 4great great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Bennie's final days were spent surrounded by his loving family. He will be remembered for his love, kindness, wealth of knowledge and wittiness. A Visitation will be held Monday, December 17, 2012 from 12:00~12:30pm, followed by a Rosary at 12:30 pm at St. Anne Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated Monday, December 17, 2012 at 1:30pm at St. Anne Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
