DR. RICHARD E. BANTZ FEBRUARY 27, 2013 Dr. Richard E. Bantz February 27, 2013 Dr. Richard E. Bantz, 78, a resident of Scottsdale, Arizona for the last 12 years, passed away peacefully on Februay 27, 2013 after battling pneumonia for several months. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, and lived in El Segundo, California since the age of three. He was preceded in death by his loving parents Edouard and Loma Patricia Bentz. He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years Ana Leonor 'Analia" Bejar-Bantz and his dear son Richard Matthew Bantz, his mother-in-law Laura L. De Bejar, sister-in-law, Malena Burnett, Cecilia Bejar, Rosi & Carmelo D'Amico, Carolina & Carl Lindberg, Eva & Enzo Ciannelli and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Richard graduated from El Segundo High School. He received a Bachelors Degree from Loyola University in Souter California and a Doctorate degree from Creighton University in Nebraska. He practiced in Hollywood, California until his retirement in 1982. He was an Associate Professor of post Graduate-Hospital Dentistry at UCLA, and USC. He moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1983 to pursue his love of Spanish culture, tradition and the arts. He was a registered Lobbyist, pro-bono service in New Mexico. He worked tirelessly to secure funding for education and the arts. He enjoyed the ocean, sailing, gardening, and above all, he loved the study of history, music, and traveling to his beloved Mexico. A private memorial service for family and friends will be celebrated at a later date.
