BERNADETTE EVANGELINE GARCIA OCTOBER 15, 1952 ~ JUNE 13, 2013 Bernadette Evangeline Garcia 60, of Pojoaque passed away June 13, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. After her courageous battle with Hodgkin Lymphoma, Bernadette is now safely in the arms of her Lord and Savior. Bernadette was born in Santa Fe, NM on October 15, 1952. She graduated from Pojoaque High School in 1971. She later started her career at Christus St. Vincent Hospital in 1979 and retired in October of 2012 after 33 years. She enjoyed tending her flower gardens, feeding her hummingbirds, decorating her home, spending time with her loved ones, and her dog Foxy. She graced her community with her beautiful smile, caring ways, warm conversations, and delightful sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her father, Fred J. Gonzales, grandparents Federico and Emerenciana Gonzales, grandparents Pedro Roybal and Bernardita Romero Roybal and niece Mequella Padilla. She is survived by her mother Carolina R. Leatherman of Albuquerque; loving companion Henry Alvarado of Pojoaque; daughter Tammy Garcia Logghe and husband Matthew Logghe of Santa Fe; son Jerome A. Garcia and wife Jenah Garcia of Albuquerque; former spouse of 26 years George J. Garcia of Santa Fe; sister Christella Padilla of Albuquerque; brother Johnny Gonzales of Rowe; sister Patsy Roybal and husband Victor Roybal of Glorieta; grandchildren, Marcos Romero, Kaylee Logghe, Jeanine Garcia, and Jenneva Garcia; nieces and nephews, Jan Trujillo, Rachel Gonzales, Jennifer Arellano, Freddie Arellano, Carol Arellano and companion Beto Barraza. Great nieces and nephews; Jordan Trujillo, Adan Grant , Jeremiah Gonzales , Patricia Arellano, Manuel Arellano, Kailye Arellano, Kadynce Arellano, Adrian Barraza, and Carlos Barraza; and many other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 18th from 4 - 6 pm at Berardinelli Family Funeral Service. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, June 18th at 7 pm at St. Anne's Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 19th at 10am at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Romans 14:8 For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's.
