Carl Ramer Obituary

Carl Ramer
When thou passet through the waters, I will be with thee; and through he rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
Carl Ramer passed away peacefully in his sleep at home with his family by his side on October 27, 2010. Carl was born in Webbers Falls, OK on April 20, 1933 to Joe and Josephine Ramer. Carl was raised with four brothers and four sisters. In 1956 he was enlisted in the Marines and served three years. Carl then came to Lindsey, California where he met Mildred Harris at a small Chinese Restaurant, and they were married in 1963. In 1969, Carl and Mildred moved to the Central Coast where they continued their married life and raised their two girls and two boys. Here, Carl and Mildred focused their lives on their family and worked very hard until all of their children were grown. Carl and Mildred thoroughly enjoyed being involved with their children in various sports and activity programs and spending much time with their grandchildren, until 2005 at which time they were ready to fulfill their lifelong passion of retirement in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas.
In the years following retirement, Carl and Mildred became active with their church family at Van Buren Assemblies of God and attended faithfully when their health would allow. They also enjoyed volunteering at the Search and Rescue homeless shelter. One of Carl's greatest joys was having his family all gathered together, laughing, telling stories, and enjoying a big meal together. He enjoyed this to the fullest. The pride and joy of Carl's life was his children and seven grandchildren. Carl had the gift of encouragement, motivation and great faith and enjoyed helping others, especially encouraging his children through many trials. He loved God, was a magnificent prayer warrior and enjoyed reading his Bible daily.
Left to miss him is his wife of 47 years Mildred Ramer; daughters Carla and Karen Ramer; sons Carl (wife Marisa) and John (wife Christina) Ramer; grandchildren, Blaine A. Hanks, Kayla Hanks, Dean Ramer, Carl J. Ramer, Joslyn Ramer, Carson Ramer, and Connor Ramer; sisters Betty White and Reba Robins (husband Lester); brother Edward Ramer (wife Patty) and numerous nieces and nephews.
A military honors graveside service will be conducted at 1:00PM, Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Bakersfield National Cemetery A memorial service will be held to celebrate the life of Carl Ramer at 1:00PM Friday, November 5, 2010 at South Valley Community Church in Orcutt, California.

To Family,

Your father, my friend for LIFE, has made a huge difference with the way I walk with God. Thank you for sharing this incredible, AND I REALLY MEAN INCREDIBLE person with me. I cried like a baby when I heard this very sad news.

But as CARL would say (and please understand that I am merely speculating - "Paul this is not a sad time this is the most wonderful time I can EVER remember. All of you have no clue just what it is like up here. Man alive God is great. Keep your strife alive!" This place is worth the wait!

Now understand that I was born in 1963 the year Carl was married and I have a lot to learn. This beautiful man Carl has helped me soooo much that I am forever indebted.
