Isoletta Silva Obituary
Isoletta Silva, lifetime resident of Santa Maria, CA died October 1, 2010 at Clovis Community Hospital of natural causes. She was born September 17, 1921 in Lompoc, CA. Izzy, as she preferred to be called, is survived by her only child, Sharon Moore (Phillip.) of Santa Maria. Also, survived by her two wonderful grandsons that she adored. Dean Moore (Pamela) and their son, Jack. Marc Moore (Victoria) and their daughter, Mia. Both grandsons reside in San Diego, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years August Thomas Silva, in February 1997. Her brother, Lorenzo Greco also preceded her in death. Izzy worked as a teller at Security Banks in Guadalupe, CA and the Broadway and Main Branch in Santa Maria. She was a lifetime member of Minerva Club. She enjoyed chairing the yearly scholarship luncheon and ran the Minerva Club Cake-Sale Booth at the Santa Barbara County Fair for many years. She was chosen to serve on the jury of many interesting local trials. A job she enjoyed and took very seriously. She was a beautiful seamstress and made many clothes for herself and her daughter. A gracious hostess that always created fresh-flower center pieces for her dinner table. They were a compliment to the delicious food she served with all her holiday meals. She and Augie lovingly supported their grandsons in every aspect of their lives. On October 8, 1997, she was admitted to Wish-I-Ah Care in Auberry, CA where she was lovingly cared for. During those thirteen years, the residents and staff became her extended family. I will be forever grateful for Marian Extended Care that recommended Wish-I-Ah (The Healing Place) for my mother.
Visitations will be held Thursday, October 7, 2010 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Santa Maria Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials can be made to any favorite charity of your choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary, Crematory and Memory Gardens.
