Jack Giles Obituary

Jack C. Giles
Jack C. Giles, 81, of Santa Maria, passed away September 19, 2010. Cremation was requested with a private interment at Dudley-Hoffman Memorial Gardens.
He was born on November 26, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois to Claude and Helen Giles. Mr. Giles grew up in Burlingame, CA and graduated from the University of the Pacific. He spent four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Was. Jack retired from the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service - Hollywood after 30 years of federal service as the Chief of the Radio Division.
Also active in the sports world, Jack coached basketball for 34 years, including: 15 years at high schools, 5 years at junior colleges and 10 years with the Special Olympics of Santa Maria.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joan in 2009 and his brother Thomas in 1987.
Survivors include his daughter Pamela Bealer and her husband Steven of Santa Barbara; son-in-law Jay Hieatt of Grover Beach; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
