Back in early April 1987 I was at a local grocery store and ran into Jimmy. Just a week earlier my brother whom Jimmy was also friends with had died suddenly as a result of having cancer. This was my final encounter with Jimmy and he inquired as to how I and my parents were holding up under the loss. I cannot recall the conversation but it made such an impact as he, alone, was the only person to inquire about my parents and myself in our loss to me. This is one memory that I will never lose as people who care about the suffering of others reflect the nature of the Almighty. Thank you Jimmy.

I am sorry for your loss. I knew Jimmy when he worked at the K Mart in AG. I was a patrol officer. Many years ago there was an escapee from the Santa Maria jail. Of course there was a little crime spree that followed the escape.
Anyway, Jimmy was shaving the morning getting ready for work and watched the morning news on TV. The picture of the escapee was shown. When Jimmy was doing rounds through the store he saw the escapee and had a clerk call the police.
I arrived and located Jimmy, the escapee saw us and started running. I gave foot pursuit (loosing my baton in the way) and chased him into another patrol officer. Jimmy came running up behind me with my baton. Thanks Jimmy!
Rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to Mrs. Minton and Jimmy's children and grandchildren. Though I have not seen Jimmy since 1987 he was part of a circle of friends formed back in the late 1950s. Old friends may leave this earth but they are not forgotten!
