John Grant Obituary

John Allen Grant
John Allen Grant passed away peacefully at 61 years of age on December 22, 2010 after a long illness. Born in Milan, Indiana on May 22, 1949 to Robert and Mary Grant, he lived in Santa Maria since childhood.
John had a lot of occupations. From being a carnival worker, carpenter, station agent for an airline, and a soldier to working on a catamaran and tuna boat. Many will remember him as a salesman for local auto and RV dealers.
John never married, instead, he loved his family and friends and the experiences he shared with them. His "rambling" took him to interesting places and centered around nature, music, poetry and song; inviting many to experience the grace of living that he enjoyed so much.
He leaves behind his brother, Dale Grant and wife, Kim of Clovis, CA; his niece Chantel Grant, a soldier in the US Army; and a nephew Jason Grant and wife Melanie of Santa Maria to join his father, mother and older brother Chuck.
Friends and loved ones are invited to attend funeral services at Dudley Hoffman Memorial Chapel with interment at Santa Maria Cemetery on Monday, January 3, 2011 at 1 p.m.
