Michael Powers was born on October 27, 1916 in the Bronx of New York City to George and Vicentina. Michael was by profession an Insurance Agent, but his love was music. He sang and played his guitar for VIP's, such as President Ronald Reagan. Michael was also a devoted Christian. In 1985 Michael did a Major Pastor's convention in the Crystal Cathedral. From 1991-1996 Michael did a series of crusades in Costa Rica, Argentina and Jerusalem to crowds as big as 25,000 people. Michael sang for the Lord for over 50 years and was awarded a Honorary Degree in Theology and Divinity.
Michael is survived by his wife Carmen Powers, his children Gary Quezada and his wife Karen, Paula Schultz, Georgianna Powers, George Powers and his wife Christine Chorney, Minor Chavez, Robert Powers and his wife April, Ollery Enos and a daughter-in-law Jennie Spinoza. Also he is survived by thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son Oscar Spinoza.
Funeral Services will be 3:00 P.M., Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Pacific Christian Church in Santa Maria. Graveside Service will be 1:00 P.M., Friday, June 17, 2011 at Oakwood Memorial Park in Chatsworth, CA.
