Ned Rickett Obituary

Ned Rickett
Ned Rickett, 93, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2010, in Santa Maria, California. He is survived by his wife of nearly 67 years Francine G. Rickett.
Ned graduated from Wabash College in 1940 and later joined the U.S. Army, proudly serving his country during World War II and retiring as a captain in 1945. He spent the next 54 years serving his community and church, the First United Methodist Church of Crawfordsville (Ind.).
Ned and his wife moved in 1999 to Santa Maria, where he continued a faith-filled life of community service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to a cancer charity of the donor's choice. Expressions of condolence and remembrance can be posted at the website Legacy.com.
Ned is also survived by four beloved children and their spouses: Henry Rickett and his wife, Linda; Dr. Daniel Rickett and his wife, Ann-Marie; Roberta Reardon and her husband, Walter Cline; and Ned S. Rickett and his wife, Laura. He is also survived by five grandchildren. His beloved sons Roger and Kerry preceded him in death.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held October 16 at 11 a.m. at the St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 3945 S. Bradley Road, Santa Maria, by the Rev. David Camphouse.
