I worked for Owen in the position as shop foreman, I never worked for a better person ever. Owen treated everyone fairly He encouraged you want to do your very best. Even though he was the owner of the company he was right there doing the hard work like a normal worker. I have nothing but fond memories of my time at OSR best place I ever worked.

To all Rice Family members, please know that we, of the Bettiga family, remember Owen as the great friend of Otto and Frances Bettiga all their lives. I am Al Bettiga, their son, sending this message to tell you I know Owen is in Heaven with my Father and Mother enjoying their continued friendship. God Bless them all. Owen was a very special friend. Peace be with you!

Sorry for the loss of your father, he was a great man. I can remember all our trips as a family flying up to Bass Lake and the fun we had at the cabin. It has been many years of wonderful memories. God Bless to your entire family. Laragene Schuyler from Lompoc

Jim, Carolyn and Families: I never had the privilege of meeting Owen, but what a legacy he left. I have heard nothing but wonderful, glowing things from other employees of the ranch. I regret that I never knew him, and wish you all peace and comfort because of who he was.
