Robinson, Elmer L.* - Saratoga Springs  
Elmer L. Robinson SARATOGA SPRINGS - Elmer L. Robinson “DOC” 88 years old of Saratoga Springs passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at his home. Elmer struggled with Dementia and other health problems for many years. He was cared for in his home by his daughter Leta Rock-Wells and her husband Mark Wells. He passed peacefully sitting across from the love of his life for 66yrs, Ruth. Born September 18, 1926 he was a resident of Ballston Spa, NY and son of the late Roy and Hazel Robinson of Ballston Spa. Elmer served in the Army and attended Cornell University. He and his wife, Dr. Ruth Jones were both veterinarians and they opened Saratoga Springs Veterinary Hospital in 1950, a small and large animal practice. Doc covered many miles and several counties on his farm calls in his 30 years of practice. Elmer enjoyed bird watching, sailing and singing and was a member of the Racing City Chorus. An active community member, Elmer helped establish SPAC and the YMCA locally. He loved his racquetball crew and was an avid runner. He was a consultant with Skidmore College Animal Care unit for many years and donated his time and services to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s K9 unit and he was ALWAYS up for joke!! He and Ruth enjoyed wintering in Florida. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Robert Robinson of Dexter ME. He is survived by his wife Ruth and children Nancy Schaefer (David), Gale Webster, Chris Casertino, Roy Robinson (Cristina) and Leta Rock-Wells (Mark); Eleven Grandchildren, Erin, Dave, Alissa, Shaun, Nicole, Andrew, Sabrina, Monique, Lucas, Jesse and Jamie. Twelve Great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa.
