Anderson, Pauline* - Saratoga Springs  
Pauline H. Anderson SARATOGA SPRINGS - Pauline H. Anderson, 96, of Saratoga Springs and formerly of Broadalbin and Wallingford, CT died Tuesday morning December 16, 2014. She was born in Broadalbin on November 27, 1918 a daughter of Donald and Bertha Brooks Anderson and graduated from Broadalbin High School in 1934, at age 16. Pauline went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree from Keuka College and a Master of Library Science degree from New York State University at Albany. Ms. Anderson was the first female faculty member at Choate Rosemary Hall, Wallingford, CT in 1950 and served as the Director of Educational Development, and the Director of the Andrew Mellon Library, until retiring in 1983. She returned to Broadalbin and became a consultant for libraries around the United States and the world. Pauline also taught during the summers at the University of Hartford. She authored two books on library development as well as numerous articles for trade publications. At the time of her death, Ms. Anderson was working on a new children’s short story about squirrels. Survivors include a nephew, David (Paula) Wallin-Eddy, and their daughter, Olivia, of Broadalbin; and Sue Horton, surviving wife of late nephew Dale, and their daughter, Deborah (James) Wilson and son David, and his son, Jayce Wilson, all of St. Augustine, FL. She also leaves behind her loving and caring friends at Woodlawn Commons, including Marjorie Osterhout; as well as the gray squirrels who would inspire her last story. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am at the Saratoga Room at Woodlawn Commons, Saratoga Springs, with Rev. Linda Martin officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sunshine Fund at Woodlawn Commons, in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are by the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc. 111 County Highway 106 Johnstown.

Bereza, Katherine* - Saratoga Springs  
Katherine (Kay, Kitty) Bereza SARATOGA SPRINGS - Katherine (Kay, Kitty) Bereza died peacefully Saturday Dec. 20, 2014 at Wesley Nursing Home where she had been a resident for the last five years. Born November 17, 1916 to the late Tichon and Martha Adamovich in New Haven, Connecticut, she graduated from New Haven High School and was a manager of the J.D. Plant Glove Company in Branford, CT for 25 years. She was a member of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, Cohoes, NY. Katherine was a joyful and thoughtful human being who loved to laugh, sing and do the Hula. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Paul in August 1992 and her beloved daughter, Diane LaVine in November 2011. Katherine was laid to rest next to her husband Paul at St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Cemetery in Latham, NY. Thanks go out to the staff of Wesley Nursing Home (2 Springs) for their tireless and compassionate care of Katherine. May Katherine rest in eternal peace in the company of her loving husband Paul and her devoted daughter Diane who cherished her above all else in this world. Cridge, Marion* - Gansevoort  
Marion Elizabeth (Garrity) Cridge GANSEVOORT - Marion Elizabeth (Garrity) Cridge, 78, passed away on Tuesday, December 09, 2014 at her home after a long illness with cancer and paraneoplastic syndrome. Born in Sharon, CT on February 12, 1936, she was the daughter of Constance (Mantas) and the late Kyran Edward Garrity. She was raised in Millerton, NY and graduated from Millerton High School. Following graduation from New Paltz State Teachers College in 1957, Marion divided her time between raising two daughters, teaching art in the public school system, and taking many graduate courses. During this time, she also found the time to practice the many forms of art in which she was involved such as batiq, clay, mosaic, and the art form she focused on most after retirement in 1991, that of hand quilting. In addition to her art, Marion had a beautiful singing voice and always sang in choirs of the churches to which she belonged. She was a passionate organic gardener plus she always had spectacular flower gardens. An avid reader, she belonged to a cherished book club. On August 23, 1958, she married William A. Cridge. They settled in Latham where they raised their two daughters. After retirement, she designed a solar home they then had built in Granville. In 2010 after she became ill, they moved to Gansevoort, NY. Marion is predeceased by her father, Kyran Garrity, and two brothers, David and John Garrity. Left to cherish her memories are her 99 year old mother, Constance M. Garrity of Saratoga Springs, NY, husband of 56 years, William Cridge, two daughters, Denise Ann Cridge of New York City, and Lisa Jeanne Cridge of Arlington, VA, sisters Marjorie Garrity of Scottsdale, AZ and Catherine (Troy) Offutt of Broken Arrow, OK, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call from 10am-11am on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the South Glens Falls United Methodist Church, 15 Maplewood Parkway, South Glens Falls, NY 12803. Some of Marion’s artwork will be on display and a string quartet will play from 10:30-11. A memorial service will follow at 11am at the church with Rev. Jeffrey Stratton, pastor, officiating. Decker, Vera* - Saratoga Springs  
Vera Decker SARATOGA SPRINGS - Vera Decker, age 93, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Wesley Health Care Center. Vera was born June 1, 1921 in Mechanicville, NY, the daughter of the late Earl and Maude (Flower) Thompson. Vera married Weston O. Decker on June 29, 1939 and they had a remarkable fun-filled life together. Vera was a homemaker, who was a kind, loving and a warm person who will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Vera enjoyed knitting and crocheting hats for the infants at the Saratoga hospital and volunteering in the gift shop at Wesley Health Care Center. Vera was also a member of the Arvin Hart Fire Company Aux., Stillwater NY. Vera is survived by her son; Carl Decker wife Eva May, grandchildren; Kelly Doughty (Mark), Jill Decker, Darcy Morris (Keith), Kyle Decker, Richard Decker (Sherrie), Scott Decker (Kristina), Robin Decker (Danielle) and 8 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Weston O Decker and her son Earl Decker. Private family service will be held in the springtime. Dipasquale, Anthony* - Saratoga Springs  
Anthony (Tony) Dipasquale SARATOGA SPRINGS - Anthony (Tony) Dipasquale, age 45, passed away on December 17, 2014 at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 4, 1969 in Saratoga Springs, NY to Mary Jane Miner and Joseph Dipasquale. Anthony graduated from Ballston Spa High School. Anthony worked as a laborer for the Saratoga Springs D.P.W. Anthony enjoyed Nascar (Jeff Gordan), Baseball (Yankees), and Football (NY Giants). Anthony is survived by his father; Joseph Dipasquale, grandfather Arthur Dipasquale, brother; TimothyDipasquale (Lynn), Sister; Sandra Eldredge (Bill), Aunt; Jamie Dipasquale, three step-sons; Michael Vangundy, Christopher Vangundy, Jordan Vangundy, a niece and several nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother; Mary Jane Miner Dipasquale and grandmother; Regina Lanzara. Folts, MaryLou* - Saratoga Springs  
MaryLou Folts SARATOGA SPRINGS – MaryLou Folts passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014 at Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa. She was 84. Born on Sept. 20, 1930 in Schuylerville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Dortha (Blanchard) Almy. MaryLou enjoyed listening to country music, especially Alan Jackson and was a collector of glass figurines. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Walter L. Folts in 1992 and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include one son, Donald J. Swift of Porter Cornors; two daughters, Virginia L. Sovey of Malta and Betty Ballou of Saratoga Springs; four sisters, Joyce Salmon of Porter Corners, Patricia Kail and Alice Williams both of Saratoga Springs and Charlene Ennis of Chesapeake, VA as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call from 10am to 12noon Friday, Dec. 26, 2014 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373).
