Hannahs, Mary* - Saratoga Springs  
Mary Hannahs SARATOGA SPRINGS – Mary Hannahs, 95, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the Wesley Health Care Center. Born on Feb. 20, 1920 in Watertown, NY, she was the daughter of the late Harold C. and Merle Howk Jebo. Mrs. Hannahs graduated from Potsdam High School in 1938 and the Crane School of Music at what was then Potsdam State College. She continued her graduate studies at SUNY Albany and SUNY Potsdam. It was at the Crane School of Music that she met her future husband, Roger C. Hannahs. They were married at Trinity Episcopal Church in Potsdam on Aug. 10, 1942. They were both active musicians in the Watertown and Ithaca areas, eventually settling in Saratoga Springs where they raised their four children. Mrs. Hannahs taught music for 20 years in the public school system in Brant Lake, Saratoga Springs, Waterford and Amsterdam, NY. She retired from teaching in 1981. She was active in the Saratoga Springs community, serving on the Program Committee at the Caroline Street School PTA, volunteering at the Saratoga Springs Senior Citizens Center where she also served on the Board of Directors, and helping grant children’s Christmas wishes by serving on the Saratoga Springs Empty Stocking Project. Throughout most of her life, Mrs. Hannahs was involved with various music organizations and groups in a variety of ways. She was choir mother for Episcopal Church choirs in Potsdam, Ithaca, and Saratoga Springs. She directed a children’s choir in St. John’s Episcopal Church in Ithaca. After her retirement she sang in Episcopal Church choirs in Glens Falls and Schenectady. She also sang with the Burnt Hills Oratorio Society and the Schenectady Thursday Music Club. Mrs. Hannahs is predeceased by her husband, Dr. Roger C. Hannahs; two sisters, Betty Kimber of Saratoga Springs, NY and Nancy Shatraw of Potsdam, NY; and her parents. She is survived by her daughters, Katherine Whipple and her husband, Gary of New Fairfield, CT, Jennifer Scarano and her husband, Jerry of Saratoga Springs, NY; Cynthia Reedy and her husband Wayne of Scotia, NY; and Jocelyn Hannahs of Enfield, CT; nine grandchildren, Beth (Charlie) Rozko of Kingston, NY, Ryan Whipple of Brookfield, CT, Capt. Joseph Eric Masten (Cristina) of El Paso, TX, Abbey Mabb of Indiatlantic, FL, Adam (Jen) Scarano of Westford, MA, Janine (Greg) Phillips, Greg (Dawn) McCarthy and Travis Reedy all of Scotia, NY and Chad (Stephanie) Reedy of Mechanicville, NY; 19 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Hannahs’ daughters would like to express their appreciation and gratitude for the compassionate care their mother received by staff and hospice at the Wesley Health Care Center. Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 5pm Saturday (May 23, 2015) at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing and Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway 584-5373. A Requiem Mass will be conducted in Trinity Episcopal Church, Potsdam, NY at a future date and burial will be in Bayside Cemetery, Potsdam. Shaw, William F.* - Malta  
William “Bill” F. Shaw MALTA - William “Bill” F. Shaw, 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn in Albany. Bill was born on December 2, 1929 in Schenectady, the son of the late LeRoy and Pauline (Mulligan) Shaw. He was a 1948 graduate of Mont Pleasant High School, where he was a member of the four year undefeated track team. In 1951, Bill was drafted into the Army and served his country in Korea with The Special Category Army with the Air Force (SCARWAF). He and his wife enjoyed visiting many cities on the east coast attending SCARWAF conventions. In 2002 the two of them returned to Korea on a Korean Military History Tour sponsored by the Korean Government. He was employed for 21 years at General Electric in various capacities working in Schenectady, KAPL, Malta Test Station and the Kesselring Site in West Milton. After leaving GE, he worked for 21 years for the NYS Department of Social Services as a Fire & Safety Inspector, retiring in 1994. Bill was a member of Adirondack Chapter 60 of the Korean War Veterans, serving as commander on several occasions. He was also a 50 plus year member of the Malta Ridge Fire Company serving as Chief for 12 years. From 1976-83 he served on the Ballston Spa School Board. He was also a member of the Ballston Center Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church and the Malta Rotary. For several years he served on the Town of Malta Planning Board and the Assessment Board of Review and he was also the Town’s Civil Defense Director for many years. He enjoyed going to car shows and fire and military museums. In the late fifties and sixties he was a Steward and back-up flagger at White’s Beach Speedway in Ballston Lake and always enjoyed doing maintenance on family and friends’ cars. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Marjorie (Johnson) Shaw, his beloved children Kathy Shaw (Daniel Rossignol) of Malta, Wendy Elliott (Robert) of Newfield, ME, Robin Reardon (Peter) of Newcomb, Peter Shaw (Kristin) and Stephen Shaw all of Malta; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Marian and son Timothy Patrick Shaw. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 5 to 8pm Friday, May 22 at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, May 23 at the Ballston Center Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 58 Charlton Road, Ballston Spa. Burial with military honors will be 10am Tuesday, May 26 at the Gerald B H Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Town of Saratoga. Memorial contributions in memory of Bill may be made to Saratoga Bridges, 18 Saratoga Bridges Blvd, Malta, NY 12020, Malta Ridge Vol Fire Co., 5 Hearn Road, Malta, NY 12020 or Ballston Center ARP Church, 58 Charlton Road, Ballston Spa, NY 12020. St. George, Margaret G.* - Saratoga Springs  
Margaret G. St. George SARATOGA SPRINGS - Margaret G. St. George passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs. She was 91. Born on Sept. 3, 1923 in Worcester, MA, she was the daughter of Charles H., Jr. and Catherine A. (McGuire) Rosseel. She was a graduate of Auburn High School and Becker Jr. College. Margaret was active in church affairs at St. Joseph’s Church as C.C.D. teacher, Lector, and Eucharist Minister. She served on numerous church committees over the years. She and her late husband, Charles, enjoyed square dancing, oceanside vacations on Cape Cod and numerous fun-filled family outings on Glen Echo Lake in Charlton. Margaret was employed as a secretary at a number of businesses over the years. At the time of her retirement she was an executive secretary at the Upper Blackstone Water Pollution Abatement District. Margaret is predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Charles W. Jr., two sisters, Mary and Ann, and a son-in-law H. James Ryan. Survivors include three daughters, Janet A. Ryan of Wilton, NY, Karen L. (Andrew F.) Lemister of Cooperstown, NY, Patricia E. (Ronald) Bushee of Auburn, MA; five grandchildren, Kimberly M. (Clayton) Knapp, Elizabeth A. Carpenter, Christopher C. Ryan, Andrew C. (Christine) Lemister, Pamela L. Ryan; six great grandchildren, Caleb C. and Zachary A. Carpenter, twins Addison E. and Andrew J. Lemister, Makenna G. and Kassidy M. Knapp and several nieces and nephews. Relative and friends may call from 10 to 11am Friday, May 22, 2015 at the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn, MA(508-832-4420). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am in St. Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford Street North, Auburn, MA. Burial will be in the family plot at Hillside Cemetery, Auburn, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 or to the Wesley Foundation, 131 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. The family wishes to thank staff on Four Springs at Wesley Health Care Center for the care and kindness extended to Margaret during her time there. Special thanks to the Hospice team for their support over the last few weeks. Local arrangements are under the direction of the William J.
