WILTON >> Harold D. "Heck" Parish, 71, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, October 23, 2013, at the home of his son and daughter-in-law.
Born May 1, 1942, in Saratoga Springs, he was the son of the late John and Yolanda "Lindy" (Izzo) Parish.
Heck was the former proprietor of Parish's Grocery Store (tavern), Wilton. He later worked at Ball Corp. for 25 years.
He loved to laugh, enjoyed life and if you knew him, he could make you smile. Above all, Heck loved his family.
He was predeceased by his parents and a brother-in-law, Tony Fowler.
Survivors include two sons, Darin Parish and his wife, Jamie, of Wilton, Jeffrey Parish and his wife, Jill, of Middle Grove; one daughter, Brittanie Carlson of Wilton; their mother, Claudia O'Brien of Wilton; five grandchildren, Darien (Parish) Rozell and her husband, Eric, Landen Parish, Kaileigh Parish, Jay Carlson and Trevor Carlson; and three sisters, JeanAnn Dennis and her husband, Michael, of Wilton and Terri Parish and Linda Fowler, both of Wilton.
In keeping with his wishes, there are no calling hours or funeral services scheduled.
Friends are welcome to join Heck's family for a celebration of his life from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013, at McGregor Pub, Route 9, Wilton.
