John G. Callan, 62, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014.
Born in Long Island on April 2, 1952, he was the son of Helen Pietrowski. John was a graduate of West Homestead High School in Long Island and worked at the Target Distribution Center in Wilton.
John was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing golf. He loved all sports and coached baseball for many years while his sons played. He was a big fan of the New York Mets and the Dallas Cowboys.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Pietrowski of Ballston Spa; his children, Kelly Flynn of Ballston Lake, CJ Callan and his wife, Brittany, of Ballston Spa and Andrew Callan of Ballston Spa; his grandchildren, Dylan Helo, Brendan Flynn, Trayce, Cendel, Aizlyn and Rori Callan; and several aunts, uncles and cousins in the Kelly and Lane families.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, May 1, at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Milton Avenue. A reception will follow at the family's home on 526 Plummer Road in Ballston Spa.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Armer Funeral Home Inc., 39 E. High St., Ballston Spa.
The family will also host a gathering to celebrate John's life on Saturday, May 3, at the home of Kelly Flynn, 69 Ashdown Road, Ballston Lake, N.Y.
