Daniel Levy Obituary
He was 21.
A 2008 graduate of Saratoga Springs High School, he was a talented artist, a loving brother and son, an avid skateboarder and an empathetic and kind human being.
He is survived by his mother, Jennifer Delton of Saratoga Springs; his father, Adam Levy of Minneapolis; and many, many friends and relatives who loved him dearly.
Donations may be sent to Four Winds Saratoga, 30 Crescent Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
Visiting hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at Tunison Funeral Home, 105 Lake Ave. A few words of remembrance from friends and loved ones will begin at 6 p.m.

I moved to Minneapolis in the early 90's and spent a good amount of my summer days at the beach on Lake Calhoun. One late afternoon I saw Adam stroll onto the beach, wearing jeans, boots, a t-shirt and a curly haired kid stuck to one leg, a boy that I now know must have been Daniel. He tossed his soaking wet and giggling little boy in the air over and over until they both collapsed into the sand, only to start the whole process over again. I don't know Adam personally, but hearing this news takes me back to that beautiful day in the sun when there was nothing but pure joy in the air. My heart and wishes go out to Adam and family.

While I cannot fully conceive of the grief of losing a child, I have suffered the tragedy of walking through the passing of several close friends and a lover who passed “before their time.� The loss of a young life cuts in such a different manner than those whom have gracefully aged and walked through the various epochs of life. Breathe deep brother, celebrate what was great (it will always be there) and trust he's in a better place. Understand that you will undeniably carry and transmit a piece of him wherever you go. My daughter was friends with Daniel in school, she is broken hearted. I am so sorry for your loss. Every parent feels the pain in your hearts, I only wish it could lessen your burden.

I had the pleasure of teaching Dan in 5th grade at Lake Avenue School. Even then, I could see the caring, bright, artistic, inquisitive child behind the big brown eyes. He definitely stood out in the classroom and was liked by all. To Dan's parents and family, you have my very deepest sympathies at this time.

I remember the quiet, shy, young man who hid through his curly locks. Daniel and I were in Four Winds at the same time, and I realized what a sensitive, thoughtful young man he was. I feel blessed to have known him. My thoughts will be with you and your family.
